Making a Bolster!

I am so excited.  A customer wanted a bolster and wanted it to be firm.  I’ve made them before but searched online anyway for some new ideas and found a brilliant one that made use of a pool noodle.  I immediately ran to the store to buy one.

Through the hole in the noodle, run the thread that will secure your end buttons.

Wrap 1″ foam around the noodle followed by batting (until you get the needed diameter) and then wrap it all up in your outer fabric.

Cut two circular pieces of foam to go over the ends to make them more firm.

Sew it all up and tighten down the buttons.

Here is the finished bolster:  9″ diameter by 36″ long.  Nice and firm and the noodle down the center helps to keep the whole thing in shape.
